Even if you are far from being a fashion-conscious person, one thing is for sure: you own at least one type of jewellery. From the basic necklace, ring, bracelets, and earrings, even jewellery has continuously evolved to suit the taste of any person’s fashion sense. And with a lot of pieces that you have, you always face the same problem with these fashion pieces – jewellery storage.
There are always that one pair of earrings that you can’t find the matching pair or the necklaces that get tangled together. So, how can you secure your jewellery more efficiently?
Categorize then organize
If you own a lot of jewellery, then you might have experienced getting them tangled, mixed up, or even lost in storage. When you plan to organize your jewellery, put them into different categories.
You can organize by type of jewellery and separate the necklaces from the rings, bracelets, and bangles. It is also useful to assign a separate space for your earrings to avoid losing their pairs. You can also organize by the frequency of using the jewellery or how valuable the jewellery is.
You can use a tray for items you frequently wear, while more expensive items should be put in a jewellery box with a see-through lid and felt lining. In this way, your jewellery is not easily scratched or corroded.
Find one space to keep them
One thing that you unconsciously do is take off and leave your jewellery on any tabletop nearest to you. When you have one container or area where you can store your ornaments, it would be easier to organize and look for them.
Your jewellery storage space may be inside your wardrobe or in a drawer. If you have jewellery that you use every day, like rings, you can allot a tray or a ring organizer.
For the jewellery enthusiast, or if you have more expensive jewellery, you can keep them in separate jewellery boxes or a jewellery box with dividing walls. Jewellery boxes offer more storage space because they have built-in drawers that keep your jewellery away from direct sunlight.
You can also have a storage space built in your wardrobe. This will be a good choice if you enjoy do-it-yourself stuff to arrange and design the storage yourself.
Secure them in a safe area
It isn’t enough to lock your jewellery box. For expensive or valuable jewellery that robbers can target, make sure you have a non-conspicuous space in your wardrobe or drawers.
Aside from the typical lock and key, you can choose jewellery boxes with built-in combination locks. These jewellery boxes are quite common and have various features like heavy-duty metal outer layers and inner foam linings to protect fragile jewellery. Jewellery is a wardrobe piece that completes your outfit. However, with various jewellery you can own, there can be no question that mix-ups and lost jewellery are common. So be organized and take care of your jewellery well to last a long time.
